Nice one Les! Did you tune your guitar like Keith Richards or take a string off?

Excellent Les. "The Rolling Bumpkins"!

Great version of this classic - you really did it justice, whether you used 5 or 6 strings!

Thanks guys!

Todd... I used standard tuning with the lead played out from the 7th fret (Barr E - but more of a power chord positioning). On the lead I had to mute heavy to keep stuff from ringing out. The song is in E. E/D/A. He uses the open D and open A as the bass fillers on the lead. I had to mute the D and A strings immediately after striking them which was a bit tricky to get used to. It is finger-picked on the lead.

Les

Very nice Les, do you actually prance around and jump all over the place while you're playing it? I thought that was mandatory for Stones songs...

Great job, I am having such a blast listening to everyone's stuff here, lot of talent for one board...

John,

Thanks for listening. Ha, even with Mick being 10 years my senior, there's no way on God's green earth I can gyrate like that!

Well, I certainly hope it won't be the last time we get to hear you IC. Fantastic job. One of the big hits of my youth and Keef has always been one of my first guitar idols, despite his eccentricities. You will need a joint inserted firmly in both nostrils to really get into the finer points of live performance, but it will be worth it!

GREAT work. A very nice 'cover' of my favourite Stones song.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
