Singing "House of the Rising Sun" with my Dad

A few years back, on one of my parents visits out here to Colorado, I got my Dad to sing in the studio. I believe I acquired much of my love of music from my Dad, who plays no instruments, but always sang, in the car, at home - lots. He loves to have family sing-alongs when I visit Florida or he comes out here. On one trip I asked him to pick a couple tunes to try and record. My Dad and I are both singing on this. The instrumental solo is on a guitar synth. He did a great job for someone who has never even sang into a mic before, or for anyone for that matter.

...Almost!

This project was a great thing for both my Dad and me. He's proud of both his and my performance, as am I. He makes his friends listen to it. He did call me a perfectionist as I worked on the backing tracks, but I took it as a complement.

Did you use chorus or reverb on the vocals? Whatever you did it really works

I used a lot of reverb on the vocals as well as overdubbing a few more vocal tracks for the "big" harmonies.

Thanks for listening!

Nice one guys. I love a family sing along but the trouble is when I start singing, either I get thrown out or everybody suddenly remembers they have to be somewhere else .....

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
