My son

This is my son playing with out any lessons , he figured all this out by him self , ok ok it's not prefect . But remember this no-one showed him nothing about a guitar when he did this , since then of course he goes to lessons and loves playing .

Brought a smile to my face the day I found him doing this , he is 14 now he was 12 when I recorded this ..

Wow! That is really good for someone to figure out by themselves just starting on guitar. He sounds pretty sure of himself and confident! I think you should really encourage his playing because he seems to have a pretty good musical instinct!

Nice!!!

Congratulations on such a great son!

Jim

He sure has a natural feel for it, hilch, what a nice relaxed wrist. Very cool ... you're lucky to have a playing partner!

Nice job Hilch's boy! If he plays all the time now I'll bet he'd be choked if he knew you posted work from his "early years!"

I won't be telling him what I did , maybe some time down the track I will show him all the response and nice words everyone had to say about his playing .

I really loved the way he tried something he had never done and worked it out for himself , I'm a proud dad

It sounds like you're about to ask for extra pocket money, Jim.

Well done Trev, and congrats to your son on some fine playing. What's his name?

His name is JAMES But since he took up the guitar he likes to be called Maverick

Why ? Who knows

I call him Mav just to entertain his ego

Darn si16!!! I wanted it to be more subtle than that...

Oh, well... I guess I'll have to try another tactic to get the money to pay for all that new gear I want to buy!!

And Trev - tell your son that JAMES is a fine name! I've been using it (or the Jim derivation of it) all my life and never regretted it. Although Mav is pretty cool!

Jim

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
