Celtic Duet: Paddy Fahey's Jig- Video

Heres the video off the camcorder of the song posted earlier. The setting is the Library at the High School I work at. The program is called "Lunch And Learn". This was part of a 30 minute set.

Hey- I may play slow, but I sure am imprecise!

I wasn't able to view it either... But it's most likely something in my anti-virus or anti-sypware or firewall or some other unfortunately necessary piece of protection on my laptop. But, I'll try Monday and see if I can view it at work. That's why I go there, isn't it?

Jim

EDITING::: Never mind!! I downloaded it and ran it that way and it worked!! SUPER!! I have dual US/Irish Citizenship (my wife's 104 year old Grandma was born in Ireland) and I absolutely adore Celtic music. My wife and I always "argue" about whether it's pronounced with a 'C' or 'K' as the first letter - I say 'C' because of the Boston Celtics (even though I know it should be 'K' ), but Grandma Murphy said she doesn't even know what Celtic means!! I guess when you come from there, at least 100 years ago, that word wasn't in common usage...

I LOVE IT!!!

Jim

Very glad you enjoyed it! It's very lovely music and FYI, although either pronunciation can be considered correct, its actually derived from the Greek word Keltoi so most historians consider it with a "K". Certain French derivatives use the "C". Since my bloodlines are entirely Celt, I pronounce it with a K. History lesson over, back to music.

Hello Jim, How did you down load the vid? I just hit the hyper link and then I get a blank screen with a small picture with a broken line in it.

You need to have Quicktime installed, preferably the newest version. Download from apple.com. Hope that helps.

Assuming you're using Windows, you right-click on the hyper link, and when the pop-up menu appears, choose "Save Target As..." and then pick somewhere convenient like the Desktop and let it save the file there. They you can find the .mov file you just saved and double-click on it and it should play if you have Quicktime installed.

I do have Quicktime installed, but I got the same problem as you when I just clicked on the hyper link (blank screen with small broken line pic) - but the movie played OK after I saved it to my laptop and ran it from there.

Jim

Reminds me of my holiday in Ireland last year, listening to similar music in McGrory's bar Culdaff, Co. Donegal. Thanks for that.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
