Long Long Time - Rockerbob Original
This is a fun one because it started out in life as a R&R version of "Home on the Range." On a whim I decided I should record a country rock version of this old cowboy tune. Well, as the rhythm tracks came together, I started to really like it. It was a lot like "Honky Tonk Woman." I couldn't use this rhythm track for an old cowboy tune, so I wrote new lyrics and a new melody. On the forum chat, I was saying that there are really only a few chord progrressions used in most music. Learn one and you have learned many.

Rockerbob Original
Darn it Bob!! When is the CD coming out!! You always do such a great job on that stuff.
This one sounded very reminicent of early Eagles, when they had Bernie Leadon (sp?)playing and well before Joe Walsh.
Once again, some great stuff!

Another RB hit! Strange thing is that tune sounded familiar and comfortable the first time I heard it. I tried humming Home on the Range, but it didn't fit any version I know! I just didn't find a spot for playing deer and antelope!

Thanks folks! I'm glad you like it.
Funny you should mention it. I'm mixing the second album for a local artist/friend. I also mixed and mastered her first CD and we're doing it again. SHe recorded at a local pro studio with big rooms and lots of mics. I got the first CD's tracks on a stack of CD-Rs. This one I got on a firewire HD.

Brilliant!
No need to say any more, a true inspiration to us noobs out there. When I grow up I want to play as well, write as well and compose as well as you.
How did you get that very distintive "crunch" or wjatever it is on the lead guitar?

Thanks!
I used a Vetta II amp simulating a small fender amp, overdriven a bit.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
