There They Go - original
Folks,
Wrote this about eight years ago. Some folks have said I wrote this because of the 'empty nest syndrome'. Could be. But I held the door open as I whispered "please don't go"!
Someone mentioned a CD .... Well, for what it's worth, I am working on a CD. Code Name - "It's In The Works"
There They Go - [2.7mb @ 2.53]
Chapman Jones
**
Two children are grown
They're both leaving home
One's off to college
The other to roam
Mom sheds a tear, says
We'll always be here
Pop lifts a brow and says
It's up to you now
(chorus)
They're they go
Out in the world
One little boy
And one (sustain) little girl.
Why can't they stay
Sit around and play
In the sandbox out back
Like they did in May
But they got to go
See the big show
Earning a living
To pay what they owe
(repeat chorus)
Now families they raise
To them we give praise
For the job ain't so easy
Like in the old days
And they'll not return
To see the urn
That holds our ashes
Then it's their turn
(repeat chorus)
**
As always, thanks for getting this far.
Les

Thanks Guys. I really appreciate your time and thoughts.
Well, since posting I have added a small bridge and rewritten the last verse. Interesting how things crop up in music. Music is dynamic. I'll re-record the changes tonight.
Les

Don't forget Les, soon they'll be whispering "Please don't go" as they hold open the door of the reirement home.
Great song expressing a lovely sentiment. Good job.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
