Amazing Grace ... it just struck a chord :)

Probably the epithome of Old Timey music. Written I think in the late 1700's. Amazing Grace is just a timeless classic in both lyrics and melody.

So here is a more appropriate attempt at Amazing Grace. [2.5mb @ 2.31]

Now if I can just figure out how to lose the "ess's" (too much EQ ?) and keep the click track from bleeding over, I'll be a happy camper!

Thanks,

Les

Very nice. Harmonies sound great! The "Ess" is hard to control. Micing the vocal from a greater distance might help. I sometimes use a De-Esser plugin.

This is a real classic, and you done it justice!

Nice solo in there too.

Very well done. I really liked the harmonies.

Lovely stuff, Les ...

Re the 'S's' ... Sometimes it's because all the vocals are 'essing' slightly out of sync, so an old studio trick is to just have the lead vocal actually sing the 'esses' ... leave them off the harmonies (or damp them right down). It's weird to do, and not easy, but it works well.

Really nice version. I know I am a novice at this stuff, but not sure exactly what the problem is with esses. I understand RB and Kirks comments, but the song sounded really good to me. I agree with others and hope that you are singing these classics in a church as well. God Bless and have a great day.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
