I must have caught Clapton fever...!!!

I had so much fun recording the little piece of Wonderful Tonight, that I decided to
go all out and do the whole song proper...!!!
Well, as proper as i could anyway...

I had a tough time trying to figure out the harmonies in some of the verses...!!!

Hope I'm not boring you guys with this stuff... It'll be the last one for a while, promise...!!!

Wonderful take 2.mp3

Thumbs up

SUPER!!! I'm with Kirk - I'll buy your recordings anyday.

I am also a huge Clapton fan, and have been since the '60s and the Yardbirds. Yeah, I'm dating myself. I have a Cream music book that I bought in '69 that I still use for lyrics (the chords are too simplified in it are some are just not right).

But lately I'm been working hard on Sunshine of your love, White Room, Tales of Brave Ulysses (I got a Dunlop 535Q Crybaby Wah-wah pedal just because of these last two) and my latest one is Layla -- which you've already posted a great take on, as well as the backing track that I'm playing over now to REALLY find out when I've got Layla down. Not quite there yet...my fingers trip over themselves from time to time at full speed on the main riff (which isn't hard...just me being spazzy)...but I'm getting closer and will post my take on it when I get it up to speed.

I'm jamming tomorrow with a friend and I hope to get a recording of White Room done that I can post here. He plays bass, and we have to use a drum machine, so all the guitar work is up to me... as well as the vocals as he claims he can't sing. Bah humbug!

And - I'm proud to see you're from Joisey too! I live in Teaneck and was raised in Ridgewood from '58 until I went off the college in '70 (I was actually born in Chicago in 1952, adopted and lived in Astoria Queens from '52 to '58 when we moved to Ridgewood). But enough about me...

Great, great job man!

Jim

Please don't mean that, I'm a big fan of your stuff.
Your version of Wonderful is just that, you are an inspiration.

The vocal is in my fingers and the strings... I tend to leave the tonsil thing to
people who can actually sing...!!!
