Original song
Gidday everyone , I'm not very good at singing - -playing or writting songs ..But I enjoy it ..How ever I don't want to held responsible for any loss of hearing after you listen to this .. It's a song I wrote and sang and played ..Please tell me what you think I would be very interested in other peoples opinions of it .. ( if it sucks please tell me )
I 've written out the words so you can sing along
Who Are They
A dust covered photograpgh hanging in the hallway
He's got hair hanging down
She's smiling Oh she's smiling
I don't see any frown
Who are they
Who are they
She looks beautiful
Yes so so beautiful
He looks trim
I think I remember him
Who are they
Who are they
She was eighteen <----------------listen for the birds
He was twenty one
All they ever wanted
Was to have some fun
They got married
Oh they got married too young
That's what they were told
Who are they
Who are they
Twenty years later <-------------------listen for the birds
Their still have ing fun

Very unique style you've got there, hilch. Not too sure about the singing yet, I think it will have to grow on me.
Very stong/confident strumming.
I hope you post more, I'm interested to hear how you progress.

Thanks Geoff
Yeah the singing well , I only do that to cover up all my mistakes I make when I play
( lol ) ... my singing style will do either two things to you it will either grow on you or it might even possibly harm your hearing ( lol )

Writing something that's original is by far one of the hardest things to do in music...!!!
I commend you for your effort hilch, nicely done...!!! A lot of emotion went into this song, and it shows...!!!
Cheers

You got a cross between Dylan and Tom Waites going on with your voice. Some lessons and that could work really well for you. Cool.

No one can master every aspect of guitar playing, they just get better everyday.

I agree, you have a very unique style, which is good, alot of people can sound like someone else, but its hard to come up with something original. It could be a little more polished but id say its coming along nicely, keep it up and keep posting.

There has GOT to be a place for that voice! Its a real gem! It just needs the right song. Now the song--its OK, simple, but the melody is good, you could always dress it up by adding a bass line or some fill in riffs. The guitar playing is still at the choppy phase -I tell you are an "elbow" strummer just from the sound, loosen up your wrist a little!
I'd keep this around, in time you'll be able to improve upon it. keep posting!

Hilch, when I posted earlier, I forgot that the song was original so didn't mention it, sorry about that.
That deserves a 'well done' as well.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
