Wings
Hello guys...
It has been two years since I started playing the guitar.Time is too little to practice(I only have about one hour or less per day)due to a hectic program, but I try my best. Here is a song I finished recording today.
SoundClick artist: Theodore Logaras - page with MP3 music downloads
The first and second takes are the same song. The difference is the ending, the last 30 seconds or so on take two.I added some arpeggios but I am not so sure they fit the song...
I would kindly ask you to tell me if you notice some progress compared to the other songs that are on my profile, songs that were recorded last year(I was playing for a year).Anyway,I hope you like the song ...
All the best,
Theo

Hey Theo, that was beautiful. Just listened to the first take - I'll listen to the second a bit later. Very atmospheric spacey. I really enjoyed it. Suggestion: I'd be a bit more subtle with the left ear right ear stuff. I listened with headphones and found it distracting. I know there's a lot of thought about positioning the sounds but I'd suggest moving the pieces in a bit rather than hard panning them left or right. Just a suggestion.

SoundClick artist: Theodore Logaras - page with MP3 music downloads
Today I jusr ran into the most strange thing that ever happened to me since that day I started using a PC.If I try and play back the songs using INternet Explorer the songs sounds weird but when I try to use Opera there is no problem at all. Please excuse me for the many posts...
All the best,
Theo

Theo,
I could see three uploads. Romance and the second song came across very well, good job. I couldn't get the third to play.

Liked this Theo, does have a dream like quality to it, I was quite Mesmerized in a good way in rather the same way I am when listening to a Pink Floyd song or Peter Green's Albatross, liked the way you did this, I went all the way back to Stars and Galaxies and in my opinion you show a steady increase in confidence in you're playing, I listened to take two of Wings but I'll check out take one as well, well done on this Theo.

Theo,
Enjoyed listening to this. Lots of atmosphere, clean tones, recorded well. Congrats on your latest recording. I am happy to see and hear you back in here and playing. The most interesting part, its 5 minutes long.
All the best.

I want to thank you all for taking the time to listen...
Allthumbs,thanks for the comment...
Doug,I know exactly what you are talking about. It is a thing that I understood but it was too late to do something about it.If you noticed,I panned hard the tracks left and right at the first part and then I didn't do it any more...Your suggestion is a way for me to become better so it is gladly accepted and appreciated.Thank you for your kind words.
Johnny, thank you very much.Unfortunately things are getting really hard with school and that is the main reason that I don't have enough time any more.It is the worst part.
Chris, you are very kind!I am glad to know that the song took you somewhere,it is what it is about. When I come up with a song idea,I don't think where to go with it and why.I just play what I feel,I express my feelings using notes.I came up with the arpeggios feeling sad. Then I played a solo over those arps using the looper on the GT-10 and what I played made me feel instantly great.I took it from there and I came up with the other two parts of the song. You know, when I come up with the song,I don't think about the solo.I just play over arps on the background. If you asked me to play this song again live, the solo wouldn't sound the same.I don't keep notice of what I am playing,I just follow my feelings...The differences that I see comparing this song to Stars and Galaxies or Alekos's Rapsody are these.I play the solo using the full length of the fretboard,I use whole bends,I used a keyboard part on the song and I tried for the first time to add some vocal background which I think turned out good.I find this song compared to the other two more full, more expressive.Anyway, these are my thoughts and I just wanted to know if I am right, that is why I asked if you guys see any differences in my playing. Thanks again very much for your time...
Tomg123,thank you very much for your kind words...
EddieZ,thank you very much for your kind words. The best part for me is that I got a chance to use the SM57 one more time except that time when I recorded Romance. It means a lot to hear these words from you...Yes,it was 5 minutes long and I hope it wasn't too long !Thanks again...
All the best,
Theo

Theo,
The remark about the 5 minutes was not in reference to it being a long time. It meant that you dedicated a considerable time to the recording and not cutting it short.

Very atmospheric Theo with some nice phrasing too, especially at 1:50. I did like the areggios in take 2 but thought it was perhaps slightly too long.
