Hallelujah

I found the words on the Internet Monday evening and did a quick recording Tuesday evening. Forgive the clams, each part was a single take. I was anxious to hear it. I love this tune and I'm glad I finally got around to learning it. I'm playing in G, capoed at the third fret, so it's in Bb. It works good here for my voice.

Thanks folks!

No, no gigs for me. I'm too old and lazy to work that hard! You are my audience. Thanks for that!

Sounds great rocker bob, ive been working on the same song, youve got it down a little better then me, to say the least. Really a great song, an?d you defenitlly do it justice. Always enjoy your posts keep it up. And a quick question, what kind of mic do you use to record vocals, is it the same one you use for the guitar? Currently i only have the mic built into my laptop, doesnt do justice to much of anything, but i do have an extenal interface to plug mics, or guitars into. just curious what you use, thanks.

Thanks for listening!

I use an AKG C414 for the guitar and vocals. It's a great, clean mic. For the vocals I ran a pre-amp plugin in Digital Performer to add some tube mic preamp type distortion.

Leonard Cohen might just hug you, if he wasn't so morose all the time.

Fantastic, RB. You're the real thing, no doubt about it. Beautifully recorded!

Thanks, as nowhere-man says, it's a privilege having you here.

Well, thanks for the kind words! Although I also like my version, I give all the credit to the song. Starting with a good song always helps.

Awesome voice Bro...!!!
The only time I've ever heard this song was on the movie Shrek... I never realized it
was an actual song...!!!

With your permission I would like to download your version and try to add another
guitar accompaniment part... Of course, I would completely understand if you refuse,
I would most likely do nothing more than ruin it. But would like to give it a shot anyway
Would that be cool...???

Cheers,
Ben

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
