flogging a dead horse

This is a song I recorded and posted here a couple of years ago.I wrote it while our house was getting built. After being in it just over a year now,it makes more sense to me.I love taking pictures and videos of ,well, beautiful things. So, I put this video of the small town I live in together along with my old song to further express how I'm feeling theses days. The beginning of the video is from my back yard.My wife and I are just loving it here since we moved.I thank her for being such an inspiration, a beautiful person inside and out,and for being my biggest fan.I keep telling her how much I suck, but she just doesn't believe me
Sorry for going on,but after turning 40 a couple of years ago, somehow I just all of a sudden just turned into a sentimental fool.
I would like to share to all you people and fine musicians, my happiness.

Juslikeplaying,
What a nice video and tune to go along with it. Both bring a peace to one"s mind. Nice work on the video and the playing. Very fitting and
absolutely beautiful.

I enjoyed the heck outta this. Cool git pickin' and those are some nice vids and pics.

I'm in WA state, so the Cascade Mountain Range looks real familiar to me, and I may have been near a couple of those places while fishing in BC.

Hello juslikeplayin...
The song and the video were great! You did a great job on both of them, congratulations !I think it came up all together as a chain. The sight and your feelings led you to inspiration to write the song and it all bonded together with the video to make this great result...I enjoyed the arpegios a lot and the song was very melodic...Thank you for sharing your happiness.Don't call yourself a fool for being sentimental. It means that you are sensitive, being sensitive means that you have feelings, having feelings means that you are human. It's a very good thing to be able to appreciate life the way you do,I think that it is a gift for someone to be able to be satisfied with what he has in life.By the way,you live in a great place,I bet Canada is a beautiful country...
All the best,
Theo

Good one Justlikeplayin, nice arrangement and the video was cool what a lovely place to live, very nice gesture too, nothing wrong with showing our loved ones how we feel, good to hear you're content, it's a good feeling when a person finds what they're looking for, I think that we all seek an inner calm

Thanks Carol. It only gets down to -10 C at the most on the coldest nights in winter. It doesn't get that cold very often, usually between -3 C to 4C.Very cozy indeed .We are enjoying a beautiful summer right now, however, around 25C give or take 5 degrees.Hopefully that warmed you up again

Thank you Theo.I think we all have beauty around us.The place we live in and the people around us.We just have to remember, like it says at the beginning of the video,to stop and smell the roses.
Thanks again-
Ferd

Starsailor,X4,Tom,Matt,and Knight-
Thank you all for taking the time to watch and listen. We've lived here for 18 years, and to be honest I wasn't too keen on moving here at the beginning, being somewhat of a city boy. It's a small town of around 8000 people, with the nearest town being 35 kms away,55kms if you want to do some big shopping. We're given choices, different paths to go on in various stages of our life, and we have to pick one.Obviously ,I'm glad we took this one.
