Gentle little ditty
I posted a piece over on a different forum about a beautiful Eadd2 chord. Anyway here's a bit of a cleaned up version on my nylon stringed guitar.

Doug,
Nice piece of work with some tuff chords. I would definitely say you had to extend yourself on this one.

Thanks very much everyone. It's really just a simple I IV V progression but Eddie's right - that I chord is a difficult beggar. It's an Eadd2 (I think) 0241xx - quite a stretch. But a beautiful sound.

Doug,
I tried it a number of times unsuccessfully.

So did I. Quite a number!
Maybe try shiftiing your thumb on the back of the neck. Try lifting the neck up towards a 45 degree angle. The wrist has to be down and almost infront of the guitar. Just try moving around - sometimes it's not obvious but that little shift makes things work. And you can always try capoing up a bit - the frets are closer together up the neck.
And it depends on your fingers too. I think my fingers tend to be on the long side - my teacher has commented that I seem to be able to extend easier than some. I'm not saying that I find it easy, though.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
