Grandad -Cover Folk

Here is a tune I have been working on. It was taught to me by my good friend Smort.
He went to collage with the author and a good fiend to him also out in California.
The tune is actually a similar chord progression used in Mr. Bojangles. Capo'ed on the 3rd.
Great lyrics in this tune by the author. Fell in love with it.
An earlier lesson done here.
Acoustic guitar and vocals with some harmonica background.

Hope you like it and thanks for taking a listen. Comments welcome.

Nice one Eddie ... great vibe. That harmonica back there sure adds to it all. My only comment is that I think you should have kept the guitar picking away throughout and maybe added those strum parts on another track. I like the picking. As always, your vocal is warm and friendly and authentic.

I thank you very much for the comments and having a listen. The lyrics in this tune are top shelf. I had a tuff time with this tune in the recording.

Kirk,

Thank you for having a listen to this one. Its a great tune if done by a real pro.
It was a very hard tune to record on one track. With vocals on another. I just had to throw in the harmonica part for the long lonesome feeling. The hardest part was changing from the picking to the strumming and keeping it from going into the red zone.
Thats a tuff tune to pick for 4 minutes especially when you have to do this 20 times. without a miss and I still had a few.
I did consider the strums in another track but was worried about timing issues. Definitely keep working on it.

Chris,
I think this time your heard it with a few less mistakes though.

Tom,
Mr. Bojangles is one of my all time favorites. The best part is I still have Kirks original lesson. Yes I plan to do it sometime.

I thank you both for having a listen and leaving a comment.

This is great Eddie, lyrics, playing and arrangement make this an excellent song, the harmonica tinged the song with sadness and the vocal gave real feeling to the song, nice one Eddie
