You've got a way to go there, DS ... keep on pluggin' away. When you get it so you don't have to think about, when you just play it, show us again. From what I gather, you've been playing slide for a couple of weeks. What you (and anyone else getting into a new way of playing) need is a couple of years.

Derek, writing your own songs is a big challenge, and in the video you seemed to have enjoyed playing your song, that is what counts.

I probably never listen to how other songwriters write their songs, I just write on using my own imagination. windsong

Hi Derek,I know the feeling..The thing is that.I think you are in the right way,but you you shouldn't hurry.Sliding, for all I know,is a very difficult tecknique,it takes years to master.Just take into consideration that it takes about six years for a player to be a good guitarist.Try harder,be patient and it will all come to you...
Good luck there man!
All the best,
Theo

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
