Side by side - for Cathy

Not trying to drop a bummer on you, but my kid sister started her Chemo therapy and radiation treatments today. She and her husband are both blind and this is really taking a toll on them. I know this isn't a pick-me up tune, but I wanted her to know that we're all pulling for her{just wish I could sing it better}. The verse's repeat as I couldn't find any other words to convey at the moment, but I hope the simple ones I wrote will say enough. If it bums her out, maybe my head will cheer her somewhat...I shaved it bald this morning in support for her{scary funny}. Anyways thought I'd share this because a year or so ago before joining here, I would of had to give her a card, now at least she get's some real feelings from me.

Side by side - for Cathy.mp3

Lyrics
All of your friends are holding hands and standing side by side
praying to the heavens up above, to help you through this ride
the road is long and oh so hard, but we're right here with you
each of us holding onto a prayer hoping they all come true

Though we may not understand why this has happened at all
you need to know that the angels are near, to catch you if you fall
believe in your faith, gather your strength, battle with all of your might
we all know, deep down inside, you won't give up the fight

Kenny,
Hope everything goes well for her. And nice work from a brother to a sister. Hope the Lord gets her through the fight. I know you certainly will try. Best singing you done yet.

Kenny, forgive me, but I'm not even going to listen to this. It echoes too deeply in my own life. I will say well done though, on being a good brother and, from my experience, a great guy. Strength to you all.

Sorry to hear about your sister Kenny. My oldest friend finished her chemo abuut 5 months ago. The chemo wasn't nearly as bad as we had all feared, but that depends on what sort of chemo you have. I hope your sister gets one of the 'good' ones.

Nice touch with the head shave. That takes real guts. My friend bought a wig that was the same colour and style as her own hair and no-one picked it without being told. Wigs these days are really natural looking. I bought one at the same time when my friend bought hers as a support gesture which made it a bit light hearted at the 'wig party' we had when the wig-maker came to give her a 'consultation'. I'll dig it out and take a photo if you do the same!!!!!!

OK, a bald pic might be too much to ask, so maybe you should check out the wigs available (my friend's wig came from a seller associated with the Chemo ward) and organise a consultation and then you can buy one too. It really was fun trying on all the wigs after she had chosen the one she wanted. Just an idea if you think it might help.

BTW my friend's hair is growing back and she's looking good to go (touch wood) - and great singing on this song too.

I love the way you went black and white for the arty portrait look Kenny. Is this one going on your album cover? And I'm glad to see the beard's holding its own against the trend.

Tomorrow I'll face the music with a photo shoot of my own - and maybe a pic of my new beautiful electric guitar as well to distract the punters.

Hello X4StringDrive...
I am sorry to hear about your sister and the big adventure you are going through. That was very sensitive of you and I was really moved with what you did.I pray that God will help you through it the best way possible.May He give you strenght and courage.Hang in there man...
In the photo you posted you look like you came from a Rammstein video! Just a little joke to deescalate the situation a bit(hope it's not too much)...

I said I would, so here is the promised 'wig-shoot' Kenny.

My message to anyone who needs a wig is: wigs these days are great. This one cost $280 but for someone (especially female, coz men can always shave and look good ) who is facing sudden hair-loss, its a very worthwhile investment. My friend found the hair loss, especially when it was coming out in great tufts, was the worst thing about chemo. With her wig in place she felt she could face the world.

Now I see the pics uploaded its a lot more up-close and personal than I had imagined! Oh well.....

BTW the upload has made the wig 'hair' look strange/different from the real thing - in real life, it cannot be distinguished from real hair.

A good wig can make a real difference to cancer patients (especially women and kids).
