That Dusty Road Demo Track For Stratrat
This is an instrumental demo I've done for a Song called That Dusty Road by Stratrat, this was the first song recorded in my new studio so comments on sound quality more than welcome this is just an idea for a tune so not the full version couple of errors as I'm going pretty fast for me and my fingernails are flicking the body a bit (need to cut my nails) Hope you like it Stratrat
Cheers
Chris

Sounds good, Chris!
Now that you've done your interpretation of it, I'll post my original recording of it that I did a while back. I was holding it back because I didn't want it to influence yours as you tried to form the idea in your head (Well, to be completely honest, it was partly that and partly that I quite frankly didn't think my version was that good in the first place).
I can't quite call it a "scratch track", as I put more work than that into it - but it's obviously far from a professional-quality effort!
Here's mine:

That guitar has a lovely tone Chris, there's a bit of hiss in the recording, great 'acoustic' sound overall though.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

I probably never listen to how other songwriters write their songs, I just write on using my own imagination. windsong

Chris- excellent sound quality in that recording and some nice playing.
Stratrat- very back-porchish groove you had going on that. Cool.

Chris,
The tune sounds a bit light could use more bass. JMO But good strumming.
A little quicker in the tempo then Strat.
Stratrat,
Good overall sound. More bass notes, great tone.
Liked the vocals as well.
Nothin sweeter than the sound of music comin out of a 6 string box - EZ me Music / ASCAP

I've nearly nailed that hiss John, I think I need to mic. up my guitar, as on a vocal only track I don't get any hiss at all, taken me a while but I'm getting to the bottom of that infernal hiss, Playing my Yamaha on this which is my favourite guitar: I put brass bridge pegs on it which seems to have increased the sustain and the overall sound for some reason.winkthumb:

Thanks Windsong, this is my best guitar at the moment, a friend who was a good blues player gave it to me as a present so I'm quite fond of it

Hi Eddie, I was messing around in recording and put the track in the key of C, the actual song is in the key of E so I'll post the song in E to see if the bass comes out more, I agree changing the key has knocked the Bass notes out a bit.
I saw this song a while back and liked it straight away, there is quite a contrast in the tempo, thanks to Stratrat for letting me have a go at it, I really liked Stratrat's song had a good feel to it, hope you post some more songs stratrat it was good to hear you.
Best Wishes
Chris
