Goodbye To All That

Well, tomorrow is my last day in Yongji, the town in which I have taught for the last 8 months. I'm extremely unhappy to be leaving China, but that's the way it is at the moment with the visa situation. I fly to Beijing on Tuesday, and then to Korea on Thursday.
As this was the last chance I'd get to record for the foreseeable future, I was going to finish 'Get Up And Go', (the song that nearly killed me!) but I started to get the idea for this. It's a long way from perfect but my computer,(read; Vista) was mucking around with Reaper again, hence the speeding up of the drums and glitches.
I hope that you like this one, and forgive the mistakes, the terrible drum track and inferior recording.
Ian

Ian,
Nice tune. Good lyrics, and sorry to see that its just not working out
and you said all of that in the song.

Hi Ian great tune, those lyrics hit home, sorry to hear this has happened to you, the Chinese and the UK Government have kept this quiet, It's bad enough that they've trashed the Olympic Spirit, what they've done to you and others just adds to my low opinion of the Chinese Politicians and Politicians in general, I hope you are allowed to return after the Olympics.

Keep Safe and keep us posted on how you're getting on

Chris

Sorry about your situation, hopefully it will turn around soon. Good job on the tune, nice playing (as usual) and great emotion in the song.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm pretty hopeful that I'll be back, but I'm taking my computer with me! Unfortunately I'm leaving my guitar, if I don't come back, the school can have it.
Just a note on the song, written and (badly) recorded in 2 hours. I feel I'm developing as a songwriter, and in a way I didn't expect. However, my guitar playing seems to be a little 'samey' at the moment.
Anyway, thanks again to everyone who listened, speak to you all soon.
Ian

Another strong outing, Ian, rough as it is. Hope you're able to get back soon. Looking forward to getting back in touch as you get settled in wherever you land.
