House of the rising sun (updated)

I decided to try this again, of course when i listen to some recordings here i realize its not much of an update, i think my life needs an update, but thats a whole other story. Anyway there's one spot i didn't like in this, but had no time to change it

Nice going. I like it at that slower tempo than what the Animals did. I think it originally was meant for that. Nice job on all aspects.

Great vibe going there, Tom. The only part that perked my ears the wrong way was some of your vocal phrasing, like "My fa .... ther was" and "gam ... blin man". I think either waiting a bit and singing it in one go or holding that "faaaaaaaaather" and "gaaaaamblin man" will make it all flow better and make more sense linguistically, if you know what I mean.

But, I love the slow tempo and the mood you set up was really appropriate for the tune. And, as always, your voice has that really neat clarity and unique timbre.

Thanks kirk, that part of the vocal sounded wrong to me too, i sometimes try to track my playing to my singing to much. I think i need more refinement in a few areas. I may redo the vocals i tried what ya said and it did sound better....thanks again

Nice Arrangement Tom, always like your vocal has a lot of character, I have a picture of you playing this in a Smoke filled blues bar, I too like this slowed down version think it's how the song was originally intended to be played, good work on this Tom

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
