Is there a sadness here - doug's version

Pretty rough - call it a campfire take. But it'll give the general impression of what I was thinking. Chris did a beautiful sad version. Mine is a little more upbeat I guess - not much but a bit. I need to work on the phrasing at the end of the chorus - a little screwy there.
I want to thank everyone who helped with the revisions - all your comments were appreciated. And special thanks to Kenny for rounding out the roughness of the lyrics. And John for his concerns about all the syllables - there were lots of them . And Les for his help to stabalize the lyrics. And an extra special thank to Chris who took it in to his heart and made it his own. And... hmmm, boy - starting to sound like an academy award speach...

Very, very nice Doug. It's nice to hear your interpretation of the song. Shows how great the lyrics are - two awesome songs came from them! And you have a great voice!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
