That is an interesting effect you have going on in the second clip. Sounds like the signal has a fast fade going on.

It is actually a Stereo Cross delay set on the Lead guitar track at mastering.

It sounds more like a compressor. Did you use compression (or limiting) on the tracks? It's more noticeable on the drums (especially the kick) than guitar.

Very nice playing AOGE, I liked the tunes except for the pedal drum (if that's what it is) in the second, which had the effect of making me feel my ears were popping, or is that the 'interesting effect' Allthumbs mentioned?
Very good tunes all the same and good to see you posting.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

The drums were a very simple mic set up. Only three total mics. The kick was a CAD KBM412, a very inexpensive kick mic. Then I used two Behringer B-5 condenser mics set up in an overhead cross plane pattern. It was a very simple drum set up and a very inexpensive set of drums.
The Guitar amps were miced with an Audix I-5 condenser mic.
There is a little reverb added to the drum and rhythm guitar tracks and some cross stereo delay added to the lead guitar. At mastering there was some overall light compression added to even the sound out.

The drums where a good friend of mine. I can hold a beat on drums but I'm no drummer. I am improving though.

Most of my recent stuff is just small clips I'm working on for overall tone and feel using specific effects. I'm not really a song writer and most of these ideas are done in jam sessions with friends or with the band Ephesus. Daniel the lead acoustic player/singer for Ephesus does most of the writing for the band. I'm the bass player for them and I'm not full time I just help them out when they need it.

I thought the playing was awsome...lots of feeling...In the first clip your overdubbing in some parts...two guitars at once right?your style is definitely influenced by the late great SRV
