Man of Constant Sorrow
I had a ton of fun with this one.
At the beginning of the song, SlickCat was generous enough to lay in a sweet intro for me. Thanks again!
I did this one almost as a dirge- these are NOT happy lyrics, so I decided to do something really dark-sounding. I think the doubled vocals came out pretty cool-sounding.
Hope you like it.

Great tune.
The intro was very cool! SlickCat is awesome on slide!
The beat - Queen we will rock you or what! It was very powerful in this song and had me tapping my feet. My only very minor observation is that the clap is not quite in place with the rest of the song as its a bit electronic.
Great guitar tone and the tranistion from the intro to main song went very well, is this in standard tuning?
Your voice was very powerful, and yes the doubled vocals worked very well.
For a somber song I always had a possitive feeling, so much so its downloaded on my itunes so thank you very much!

Thanks for the comments, guys!
kirssovo, you don't know how much I worked on that clapping sound to try to get it to sound more organic- I did net searches, effects up the wazoo, etc., basically everything but stand at the mic and clap myself. I may actually go back and do that sometime.
The tuning for the song is Drop-D. Pretty much the whole song is played on the 5th and 6th string. If I was any good at all on slide, I probably would have done it, but I have a lot of practice ahead of me before I could pull that off.
BTW- any comments regarding how the vocals are sitting in the mix would be appreciated. I'm really trying to work on making them sound very clear but to not be so out-front that it sounds strange.

I love the drop D sound you got, my initial thoughts were that you were in a DADGAD but from listening again you can hear the strings used.
I can send you a sample of the clap from my SR-16 if you like and I have a couple on garageband that might be nice. I will drop you a pm if you are interested.

Chris,
That was great, tone and vocals were perfect. And the slide by SlickCat was sweet.

I personally would like the bass/baritone vox up just a tad

Great job Chris, love this song, you put a lot of work into it, the doubled vocals work really well and that intro by Slickcat worked perfectly.

I see no problem with the vocal mix and that is tough thing to get that right. Don't forget we tend to compare what we hear on the radio to our own work, and yours sounds just as good. Slicks slide was cool, and i liked the bassey sound, i have used similiar style even tho i wasn't quite sure what i was doing...enjoyed it much!
