Brain Damage Unplugged
Well, folks- just got myself a new toy, a Presonus Inspire 1394 Firewire audio interface. This is the first I've had a chance to record anything with it. I'm very pleased with the sound quality I was able to get on the first try. I'm sure it will get better as I learn more about the unit and how to use it better. In the meantime, hope you enjoy this stripped down version of the Pink Floyd classic.

Excellent Chris, a real treat, that song still sounds great and it was a pleasure to hear this version of it

Chris,
Thats super. Vocals outstanding. The only thing I found was that I was using up my volume space. It could be louder. The download was better.
Nice job, I think you got something there.

The vocals came out very well, with the small bit of tweaking the guitar will sound awesome instead of very good

Thanks all for the very kind comments- I'm just at the beginning of the learning curve using some new equipment, so i expect I'll be remixing, re-recording, etc. quite a bit as time allows. I finally had a chance to listen to this in the car today and it sounded very boomy. I'll go back and do a remix and repost for those who wish to have another listen in a day or so to see the diff.

Good job Chris. I would like to learn this tune, so you've inspired me. I play some of the basic fingering parts while noodling but I've never really learned the whole song. So when you posted, it caught my eye. I'll be happy to play and sing it half as well as you did.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
