Cool Fly,
Maybe some timing spots, but pretty darn cool. Nice vocals too.

Liked that fly, vocals more in place then the last one. The solo
bits sounded as they should. Good job

Thanks for listening guys. Timing is definitely my biggest challenge. But I'm seeing improvements. The solo in the middle is double tracked (played twice if that's what you call it). And the vocals were double tracked all the way through, and used a Magicstomp for FX. The Guitar was my G&L S-500 Strat using the Hafler preamp clean channel thru a Behringer EQ, then Magicstomp for reverb and the Digidelay. All with a healthy dose of editing.

Sounded good, I personally enjoyed the vocals. I love CCR no matter what style of music I am in. The solo sounded good, keep it up and keep up on rocking. Timing will only come with patience so hang in there. You did an excellent job.

Very nice, and I learned something too. I was unaware that you could produce a drum track on Guitar Pro. I have the worst time with drums!
Thanks,
Ian

Dire, Ray, Ian, thanks for the comments.

I've found Guitar Pro to be really useful for both learning and putting together a song. I bought the Hal Leonard tab book with a Play-Along CD that contains both a BT and BT w/guitar part. But I don't like using the BT because it has guitar parts and I want to put that together myself. So that's when I go back to GP. I record the bass and drums separate from GP, so if I want to go back and do the bass I can delete the GP bass track.

I highly recommend the Hal Leonard play-along books for people like myself who are just getting into learning to cover songs.

Thanks for the info on Guitar Pro, I'll be trying that out tomorrow! I just want to say that I've been here for an hour or so and I think it's a great forum. The sense of collaboration and acceptance of differing musical styles is terrific. I'm listening to Todd's 'Keys' with Kirk's contribution, and I am very impressed. Nice to be here.

Hey Fly, That rocked!

Loved the vocals, they worked very well. Double track you say, did you copy one track or did you record it twice?

The guitar parts had a great early 60's tone and the Strat sounds very good. Its interesting that you are back using the magistomp, have you gone full circle on the effects?

All in all I think you have done a great job, my girlfriend was tapping her feet with one and asked who sang that! When I told her fly she said oh MacFly?

Hey Kriss thanx. By double track I mean that I sang it twice. I traded my first Magicstomp for a Peavey Bandit. But after hearing some stuff that people where doing it I went back and bought a couple off eBay. It's a versatile unit but confusing to tweak. I'm only using it here as a reverb pedal. For a MultiFX board it's too limited.

Another nice job on a great tune, Fly! Love the CCR stuff, and you did a great rendition of that one.
