Oh, What the Heck...
This is my "chill out in Ibiza" piece that I created to listen to late at night every now and then. It's rythmn, two keyboard parts, and one guitar playing some wah.
I'd love it if someone would add a chilled out lead. I'm trying to figure out where to go with this one.

I don't know where to begin...
In the first place, I'd like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to Kirk Lorange for posting that lead part. I loved it.
Kirk - I took the part, imported it, mixed it in with a slightly different tone, then attached the rest of the mix on the end to bring it back down musically. With your permission, I'd love to place this little jam on the beginning of an album I'm putting together for Christmas called, "Sacred Interruptions". I'll give you credit. I've posted the new mix below. Let me know if that's ok with you.
Dad, chammon, Andy S, X4String, and mattz196 - thank you for all your kind words. I am humbled.

Sounds good Todd although IMO the drums{especially the kick} are too upfront in the mix, may be just on my end I'm listening thru my Yamaha powered Mixer/PA with Event B.A.S. 20/20 monitors.

X4string - thank you. I'm listening on headphones. I'll go back and try and remix the drums a little differently.

Hi, Todd. I've got to say, I don't like the chorussy effect on the slide. I'd much prefer it if you could leave the original tone. I can send you the wav file of it if you like, that would make it easier to mix.
EDIT: Having now listened on my big speakers, I don't mind the sound as much. I was listening through the laptops dime-size speakers first. I still prefer the original tone, though.
Would it not work better if the slide came in for the second half? Dynamically, it drops back down after the slide ends and I kept expecting something else to come and take its place. Just a thought.
I can still send you the wav file if you like.

Todd,
I agree with Kirk on the chorussy sound. It sounds too thin. Which brings the drum up too bright.
Change the ending and fade it out instead of the sudden stop.
Smoothe easy listening though. I like the magic.

Kirk,
I'd love it if you would send the wave file. I also dropped the kick drum sound down a bit in the mix (in my latest soundlab experiment) to see if that would add some of the bite back to the slide. I loved the original btw, I was just playing around. Thank you again.

Cheers, Todd. Check your PMs, I just sent you a link to the wav file. I zipped it so you can download it. It's 16 Mbs, so I thought emailing it would be dicey. I also cleaned it up a bit, got rid of the string noises and such. I saved it to the length of the mp3 file you posted here, so if you line it up with the beginning of that, it should sync up ... otherwise just look for the sound wave forms I guess and sync it up by eye.
Merry Christmas, Todd, all the best to you and yours. We're just two sleeps away here in Oz.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
