Hey Tom,

Dude. Excellent lyrics! You have a few really "high quality" lines in this tune. "You don't need to be that clever, just pull the little lever". Mind bendingly true. "I'm the new JFK, that seems to be the trend". Awesome. A serious power line!

Two things. Actually, one thing. You're holding out. I sense you're afraid to attack the music. I feel like you're, perhaps a bit taken aback to let it wail. Like you want to be heard but you don't want anyone to hear you. You've got an excellent topical song of the day. You have a good melody. you have a good voice. What's missing is the emotion you can put into it. I mean, you nailed the lyrics. You've got the idea. You need to rip right into it. You're not going to offend anyone by cranking up the adrenalin. The guitar *will not* mind if you get after it. That's what its there for!

In my opinion, you have a very good song going on here. The melody is good but could use a bit of shaping to emphasize the *important* pieces. And that's what it's about. Bringing the lyrics into the melody to be one. Prosody.

Pete Seeger would (should) be proud!

Tom,
I liked it the first time I heard it, and I think it is very creative lyric.
Nice one, and give it some growl in that guitar.

Thanks AT, eddie and les....getting better one note at a time it
seems

thanks for the in depth post les. You nailed it pretty much, as much
as i like playing and writing these lyrics my heart and mind always seems to be else where. In one sense that may be good for these
lyrics i seem to come up with, on the other hand i may need a
shrink

Good advice you've gotten there.
Your vocals continue to improve with every song, as does song structure, etc. It's very fun to watch you grow as a player, vocalist, song-writer, etc.

One thing that I like is that you've got a song that people of all political persuasion can relate to and not be offended. You've channeled the disgust that most of us feel with the whole process and that feeling that you will end up voting against someone rather than for someone.

Great update. Definitely a big difference from the last recording. Although I'll say the first version had it's unique style. Here's a link for those who hadn't heard it....
