I Saw Three Ships

Back again with another installment of my Christmas music marathon. I learned (all three chords) this tune yesterday and recorded it yesterday and today. Being unemployed does have it's advantages.

Happy Christmas!

I like it...I like it ALOT!

How do you record the percussion? Do you have some sound clips, a keyboard, plug-ins, or the real thing?

Nice and catchy RB, but don't you have enough guitars as is?

Thanks for listening!

The percussion is samples of individual drum/percussion sounds that I trigger from a MIDI track. I use MachFIVE software sampler to play the sounds. Basically it's a MIDI drum track that I convert into high quality samples and record them as individual tracks for each sound. This tune had 8 or 10 percussion tracks.

Enough guitars? What's enough?

Brilliant RB, really puts a smile on your face, plus I can picture you outside folks houses singing and having to drag all your gear round on a huge sled with you.

Merry Christmas to you and your family too Keith.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

Thanks, Jomi!

I guess I would have to settle for just an acoustic guitar for caroling.

Yes the drum tracks were fantastic - sounded a bit Gordon Lightfoot gone Irish to me. Excellent, and I hope all your Chistmas wishes come true!
