an original i've been toying with

i sat down one evening and just started playing this one out. i did it before i got planetalk and never knew exactly what i was playing, it just sounded cool to me. now i know what the chords are after reading the book. i haven't really titled it and it sounds 1000 times better on my 12 string. i added some effects to it from audacity which i am still learning so this is just something to throw out there for fun.

BWB, very nice, my opinion would be to lose the phaser completely, I think it sounds really good and the phaser takes away a little something from it.....again just my opi...nice playing!

I liked it but agree with 4X about the effects. Pretty good.

Sounded good, those effects you can use to a lesser extent. I think
you need to just bring down the depth needle

Well done Billy.....as above re effects. I also noticed that it was a very small file for two minutes of recording, so you might be losing some quality in the compression.

This is a really nice tune Billy, very pleasant ethereal quality, I agree with others about losing some of the phaser effect some effects can make tunes sound more muddy, that's definitely happening for me in a tune I'm working on now but for me it's an echo effect and since it's near the end you can readily hear the change. Another issue with recording acoustic guitar is the mic you're using, see Tekkers lessons for some great advice on that and recording in general. I get better acoustic recordings with a condensing mic than I do with the Fishman rare earth pick up fitted in my guitar.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

I liked it. Sounds like something off Rush 2112. I was just waiting for it to pause and then start ROCKING! Hahaha. Great job.

I quite liked it with the phaser. would be interesting to hear it without. Agree with the Rush 2112 feel. (that's a good thing BTW)
