Sweet Child O Mine (video)

I recently played this song at the NYC Guitar School student concert. I have been playing guitar for almost 1.5 years now. I luv Guns n Roses and always wanted to learn the way they played. I will consider myself lucky even if I get close! Let me know what u all feel. Thanks.

You did a great job Sam. If you had a multiFX or pedal to boost the gain on the intro and lead (big boost and roll back the tone on the guitar), and had a backing track you would have sounded awesome.

I enjoyed that Sam A little bit disjointed through the transitions...like you've learned the different parts of the tune, but haven't quite married it all together. Liked your voice.

Really good try dude! One thing I noticed is that your pick attack is very loud, and kind of interrupts the flow of the notes. Try turning your pick a little more towards the strings so it 'slices through' instead of plucks them(An easy way to help that is to have your guitar so it's at an angle instead of perfectly horizontal).

Seriously though, really good attempt. Good job on the vocals too!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
