Lyrics and Music and vocals by Edward Zielinski
Original - copyright
This is just guitar and vocals. No extra effects. First cut. I did add a short track of banjo.
Hope you like it.

I would have liked to be a Cowboy but I do remember telling my parents I wanted to be a Jockey, they wanted me to go in the Navy as it was sort of a family tradition, I got my way in the end and although I didn't become a Pro. Jockey, I served my Apprenticeship and spent 25 years with Horses, there is an Irony though, I decided to move to Cornwall 6 years ago and take it easy and now I work for a Royal Navy base as a contractor. Just thought I'd share that.
Our parents don't always share our hopes and dreams so I could relate to this song.
Excellent recording eddiez, really like your voice and the Banjo worked really well, thanks for putting it on, great song

Yee Haw, cowboy - brilliant. And so sad. The tune and lyric match perfectly. Great playing and singing and I love the banjo. What is your right hand picking pattern, or is that a trade secret? you do it so well. I guess the cops will be calling at my place too. Great stuff, Eddie

Interesting, Chris. I was obsessed with horses when I was a kid, and wanted to be what we called in those days a 'Red Indian' and finally (aged 7) managed to persuade my parents that the money they wasted on ballet lessons (ugh!) would be much better spent on riding lessons which they amazingly forked out for for years. Didn't get my own horse until I left home and then did a lot of show jumping. I miss riding even now, but guitar is good too (and safer).
Eddie, any closer to moving to a ranch???????? You know you want to!

Hi Carol, I was always obsessed with horses but my parents wouldn't pay for lessons, so I got a job in a riding stable when I was 16 and taught myself to ride, they wouldn't buy me a guitar either so I had to do that myself as well, my Mum always says she bought me up to be survivor but in reality I didn't have much choice as they weren't home much and never showed much interest in anything I did (sorry bit deep)
I've done some show jumping but I spent most of my career, foaling mares, looking after stallions and breaking in yearlings which was great fun but hard work, where I live now has stables and it's a rescue home for abused and neglected horses and ponies, I help out sometimes but I don't ride much these days.
It's funny how a song can hit a nerve sometimes taking you to a happy place sometimes a sad place.
If a Songwriter can do this they've really hit a home run, so Kudos to Eddiez for writing this, it is very good and great to listen to

Good one Eddiez.
I have been away for most of the summer taking care of business so to speak. The weather is getting cooler here in the mountains of Virginia and the "City Slickers" are staying home which gives me a chance to get back to my guitar. While I have visited GFB&B often this summer, I have not had the chance to add anything or spend much time reading the forum. Your song gave me the push I needed to get me to take time to sit in front of my computer and respond.
Starsailor & Carol M, I enjoyed your stories about your passion for horses as children and I can't help but smile. The irony is that I never had a passion for horses or had much desire to own or ride when I was younger but at 46 years old (7 years ago) I purchased a property and business that now runs a herd of 30 horses. I am either knee deep in manure or in the saddle close to 14 hours each day and wish that I had gotten into this business much sooner in life.

Thanks to everyone.
This tune will go into a local studio and include other instruments.
For now it was its first out to get it registered.
Could be a hit at some of those cowboy bars one of these days.
eCowboy. Yes I love them horses too but only 5 at one time.
