My wee blue guitar
I just got a little blue parlour guitar the other day so I thought I'd post a snippet. Sounds pretty good considering its size but I guess it's missing a bit of oomph in the low register.
I redid Bruce Cockburn's "All the Ways I Want You" but did it in E this time. It has a much more bluesy feel. It's interesting what a key change will do to the sound of a piece. I think it's a combination of the different pitch but also the way the guitar tends to be played in different keys. For example, in E, there's that drone tone on the low E string and since it's a common key for blues, all the blues stylings (slides and hammer-ons and such) come naturally when you play in that key.
The previous version in D tended to be more folky, I think.

Very nice Doug.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's,
And his hair was perfect.

Very cool sounding tune, Doug. And that's a really pleasing acoustic tone.

Sounds great and it was a beautiful tune. Kind of reminded me of Pat Methany.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works...
