In process recording - feedback please...

I've been away for quite awhile, but I wanted to share a track I'm working on. You are welcome to record over it and post your solo. When I get it done, I'll repost the final production mix.

Tell me what you think of the mix and so fourth. I'm still learning how to use all this stuff.

Thanks,

Jim

I'm not skilled enough to critique this, but I can say that was very well put together, Luv that bass, was that electronically created or were you playing the real thing? either way...way cool, thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi X,

Actually it all started with the bass line! I got this new plugin for Sonar called studio instruments and started fooling around with it. The bass line was the first element. Then I added the drums and started working on the chords. The melody kind of came to me as is usually does, out of nowwhere... LOL

The bass was constructed using a mouse in Sonar 6! I wish I could play bass like that!

Thanks for the comments,

Jim

Thanks!

This is just a start, I'll add solos and some additional production goodies and repost when I'm finished.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Jim

You should learn to play the mouse! That is a killer instrument... LOL Everything except the guitar was done with the handy critter, except for the cymbal in the bridge which I played with the keyboard (midi) just to get some additional dynamics.

It takes some patience but at least I don't have to call anyone to come over and help me. LOL

"play the mouse" lol. I'm with you on this, I have a key/synth myself, makes this n00b "almost tolerable" to listen to. They sure are some fun and no band quibbling either

Jim:

Small World!

Hello-
Thanks for the link.
It is Really Nice to hear you play again!!

Very Nice work Here!!
Great Production with this!
Great Tone!

Are you going to put vocals to this? (Thinking of a few if not)--
Some horns would sound killer with this!

I downloaded this for a future project- just to jam with myself for awhile at 5:06 this would make for a "extended solo" lol.

I do not know when I can get to this tho-:~[
but would like to forward to a few singers with your blessing in a collab. "for fun-not for profit project".
This would buy me some time to finish up a few songs that I need to so myself and also take off some of the soloing time for me.

While listening to this all of your work in this is Great Stuff!!(On -6th time).

Take Care:

Dude

Cool Jim. Bass and drums are very effective. Looking forward to hearing the final version.
