A Sample For A Song

This is a sample of a tune idea for one of X4StringDrive's songs Where Humanity Grows, which Kenny has kindly let me have a go at.

It's a first take with no real effects so apologies for any mistakes.

Feedback of any kind is welcome, it's the only way us newbies can learn.

Chris, not sure what went wrong but your first link isn't working... for me anyways. Maybe you were over the size limit...was this the wma file? just a thought.

I think you've got a very good feel going and this should fit the lyrics very well. Keep on with it.

Sounds like a nice clean recording. Good job.
Next on to adding in the lyric.

Chris, I can barely hear the first recording even with my volume on max.

Second is better, clear and clean.
Nice relaxing tune, well played - look forward to hearing the lyrics.

Thanks for telling me Kenny, think I've sorted it or hope I've sorted it back to the recording, got tomorrow off so plenty of time to mess around.

Thanks for the feedback, Kennys songwriting makes life easier as the lyrics flow well, going to have a go at adding the lyric, did a take the other day without music but didn't like it, I've got to get the key right then I should be able to give it a decent sound I hope.

Sorry about that Jomi, I think I rushed into posting it, it's not my finest hour, I do have a few things to sort out this end, luckily Kenny's remix got me out of a hole there, glad you liked what you heard John, I promise to get better

It's not so much a learning curve, more a learning mountain for us recording newbies LOL.

Other than your recording issues, which I've no doubt with all the wonderful help these guys give you'll soon sort out; that was great. Lovely laid back tune there, can't wait to hear it with lyrics.
Thanks for having a listen Mattz196, glad it sounded ok and Thanks WitchyWoman, thought I'd follow your lead and finally made it, X4String came to my rescue though, I'll have to sing on the next cut.
I think my next song will be The Sound of Silence it suits my recording style.

Just a note, I've had the opening post edited by Si16 as the link was a bit hit and miss and the volume was too low, X4Stringdrive helped to beef up my original recording which is the link left, hope I'm making sense and big thumbs up to Kenny.

Glad I could help Chris, but I didn't do anything but increase the volume. You'll soon get the bugs out you'll see...its not that hard unless we make it hard. The most important thing is you jumped in and are on your way to loads of fun{collabs/your own CD etc. etc.} and loads of education{self criticism during play back/ how different fx works for you or dont etc. etc.} all for a little effort to learn the basic ins and outs and theres plenty of folks in here with some great knowledge to help us all along.....just ask.

Thanks Kenny, I've got the whole day to mess around tomorrow so I should be able to make some headway, to me recording is harder than learning guitar but as you say, I've jumped in and that's my first recording out of the way and there's plenty of support on here, if someone told me a year a go I'd be recording music and writing songs I'd have said no way, I think that's the great thing about life, it's always full of surprises.

Best Wishes

Chris

Thanks YouToo, must get back to Ireland someday, lived there for 6 years in the eighties in Naas and, then Castletown KP Navan in County Meath, those days were quite mad and a lot of Guiness flowed.

Cheers

Chris
