Penumbra - shadow between light and dark
Here's a song that I call Penumbra which is the shadow between light and dark. When I play this, I envision a moth circling a candle on the veranda of a hacianda on a hot summer night with a beautiful spanish woman... oops getting carried away, but you get the picture.
I hope there's a sensual feel from this - almost bordering on sinister. (Bet I've piqued your curiousity - hope it lives up to the introduction.)
I've posted an earlier version of this last year but I think it's developed a bit since then. Hope you enjoy.

Doug, that was some really nice playing dude.
I envisioned that moth flying to close to the candle and snuffing it and its own life out at the same time, causing the beautiful spanish woman to trip in the dark and fall right into my lap and..... Sweet tune Doug

What a great intro picture you paint Doug.
Beautiful playing and the tune certainly fits that picture perfectly .
Like a moth to a flame, to Doug, Rosita came .
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's,
And his hair was perfect.

Doug - I just found that very restful - no moth imagery for me. Maybe a darkened room, a flickering candle, thoughts of a love long lost.

I didn't get the moth thing either, it was sailing boats, gracefully skimming the water for me!!
Very peaceful, relaxing tune. Well played Doug.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I guess I wasn't "emoting" enough while playing. My music teacher was telling me about the power of intent. He said that they (I don't know who "they" were) did a study on communication of intent through music. They asked a concert guitarist to concentrate on citrus fruit while playing a classical piece. The audience wasn't told of this, of course. Afterwards, they interviewed members of the audience and asked them what the music had made them think of while they were listening. And (apparently) many people said they thought of lemons, oranges, grapefruit etc. Interesting, eh?
