Shooting Star

it's late here so I have to whisper, which explains the singing that you're about to hear. Don't want to wake up my wife (believe me).

So this is a very very rough first take at my song (lyrics over on songwriting forum). I'm not much of a singer so it's got a bit of a Leonard Cohen feel (or maybe that's wishful thinking). Let me know what you think.

That is very good, love the lyrics!

Are you going to develop this? I can hear a big band in the background loads of horn etc,

I thought you were kidding about the whispered singing.

Good one, Doug

Good lyrics Doug, followed your progress on your other thread, this is great, love your playing style, the whispered lyrics gave the song a Tom Waits smokey bar room sort of feel which suited the lost love theme of the song, good to hear you.
