Talk Box Blues

First attempt at recording with the Rocktron Banshee Talk Box. I really liked the backing track that geetargal101 posted, so I grabbed it and through this over it.
A long way off from being Peter Frampton, and it is hard not to choke on the tube sometimes! But in all, the talk box is a cool sound and gets a lot of looks at gigs when I use it.

Does it take much blowing to get going???? You know like trying to suck/blow a mac donalds milkshake.

Great effect!

It doesn't take any blowing at all! i have not tried that on a shake, maybe I should next time.
The guitar plugs into the box, which has an amplifier built in. A tube runs from that up into my mouth, and then I shape the sounds by having the tube in my mouth as I play the guitar.
It is like having a garden hose in there. Maybe that is a good thing, as it shuts me up!
I find sometimes that I get too much in my throat and start to choke on the tube, or that the opening gets blocked by my tongue. Frampton is the master of it. I can occasionally get a few words out with it, but I am a long way from Peter or Joe Walsh. Those guys are awesome.
Thanks for listening everyone.

There was an awesome version of the last one, Rocky Mountain Way, from the Eagles last tour, but it seems to have been removed.

Just watched the '76 Frampton clip - a few more memories. I wonder who first thought about creating the Talk Box? Ahhh - human inventiveness

In an interview in one of the guitar mags, Joe Walsh claims to have been the first (or one of the first - can't remember which) to have used it, and says that Peter Frampton stole the idea from him and made it famous without so much as a 'thank you'.
