Losing the Hilch Strum ?

I did this while attempting "To lose the Hilch Strum " So thats what I called it ...

I was going to call it Giraffe Droppings as I know it isn't very good ...

Chords used in order that you hear them are ...
Cappo 1st Fret { only because I like the sound }

G - Em - Am -

C - Am - E -

G - Em - Am - and so on

Hope this doesn't damage anyones hearing or make anyone never touch a guitar ...I am trying desperately to lose the " Hilch Strum "

Here is Giraffe Droppings ooops I mean " LOSING THE HILCH STRUM "

SoundClick song info: Losing the Hilch Strum by hilch - Song info page with free MP3 music downloads

And first time I have recorded using a pick as I keep dropping them so I usually use Thumb nail for upstrokes and my middle finger nail for down strokes ..

Trev..

Sounds alright Trev!
You did pretty good with the pick and your strumming sounded consistent which is good too.

Just accept that you are unique and have your own distinct sound, no matter what rhythm you choose to play.

........or you could buy a little teeny tiny plastic giraffe and use that to strum with, then if you drop it whilst playing that would be giraffe droppings!
So you mean I'm special LMAO <--- video room joke

But having this " distinct sound "don't help me when I try to play a song that say Elvis recorded ...As if I could anyway

Thanks for listening guys and Ms Witchy , I will find a way to stop doing this " Hilch Strum " it might take me a while but I will ....

Play it your way hilch. I would much rather hear a player put their own spin on a tune than be a human playback machine.

Trev,
Just got back from vacation/convention and had a listen. Nice job with the strumming. Some people spend all their lives trying to "find" themselves, I don't think you have that problem. +1 to AT's comments.

Witchywoman, At and others have already said it Hilch, that strumming is you, don't be too keen to give it up!
Your recordings are much clearer these days and the guitar you're using has a really nice tone too. Well played

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
