Sultans of Swing

Here's my first go at recording... It's kinda rough as I only did a few takes. My playing is pretty much restricted to the bedroom as I don't like to inflict it on anyone but my family

The quality of the uploaded mp3 is not as good as the original, I'm not sure why. It may be the windows ftp software.

Anyways, here it is http://members.shaw.ca/tokiwa/sultans1.mp3

Thanks for listening

Nice playing SkyNet. Something funny about the file. Sounds like it's skipping. Nice tone too. What's your setup?

Nicely done. You do have recording issues though.

You did a good job on that one, SkyNet - nice playin'! +1 on what the others said about the skipping, though.

Nice job, sky.

Sky,

You weren't inflicting anything on anyone, dude!! That was really quite good!. And I agree with sale, you should try the whole song.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all of the comments! I really do appreciate the encouragement. I was jamming with some friends until they decided they wanted to start gigging and told me I wasn't good enough to play with them. So, I don't jam with anyone anymore.

I re-uploaded the file using proper FTP software and it seems to have taken care of the clipping. Let me know if it's still a problem.

The setup I used for recording was my Am deluxe strat into a Digitech RP-80 multi-fx. I went from the headphone jack on the RP-80 to the line-in on the computer.

I could record the whole song, I just figured it was kind of long for folks to listen to.

Greatly improved file - great playing. Don't give up on the idea of jamming with others tho just because one set of guys made a mistake!
