I don't recall hearing the original but I don't see how I've missed much now that I've heard yours. Hmmm, not sure if that came out right. What I meant is that your version is great, don't how the original could be much better. You really got the Gordon Lightfoot story telling serenade thing going for ya Jomi. And a beautiful recording too!

Haha, right after I wrote this I looked up and saw tom's post. So I guess that confirms it.

Witchywoman, thank you that's true and it's still popular in the folk clubs today!

Thank you Eddie, and I really appreciate you adding it to your soundclick station.

Thanks Tom You must be quite young then!!!

Thanks Fly135 I obviously need to look up Gordon Lightfoot.

Allthumbs, thank you, I'm up to about 25 songs, most of them are other peoples though.

Cheers Mattz, glad you liked it.

Thanks a lot Hilch Myself and Elle have been working on a song for several weeks, it's awkward because of the different time zones and finding the time etc, but there's no rush.
I know Scarborough fair, but when I looked up the link it was lyrics only, does Sarah Brightman do a different version?

Thanks Skinny It's a lovely song, and a pleasure to sing and play, ....better than the original??? Close that fridge door and get some black coffee in you!!

Thank you too Neil,

I thought about it for a long time before I said that.
I stand by it!
If anybody else would like to comment here is the original version, by Ralph McTell.
Jomi, you tell the story, not just sing and play

Jomi

Sarah sings the version I think we all know ,

Are you going to Scarborough fair
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine

Just thought it would really suit your voice ..
