Nice sound, harp didn't quite seem to be cross and could have been a little more to the back. Recording was nice and clear and vox was good. Over all it had that nice blusey quality.

I thought it has a nice sound. My only suggestion would be to work on fleshing out the lyrics a bit to make it more interesting. The rhythm and harp were fine. Vocals good too.

Got a good voice for the vocals, Guitar intro was pretty good, got a little weak later in the tune. Love the harmonica in there.
Overall pretty interesting. Being a little more creative in the lyrics would be nice.

A good effort. That is a lot to juggle all at the same time.

Nice recording, good vocals.
Take you down the river, make your body shiver???
Do you get many takers??
I'm no expert Ian but I think there was a slight difference between the harmonica and guitar tuning which had the effect of making the guitar sound slightly flat (ot the harmonica sharp), when you were singing the effect disappears.
Hope you find this helpful.
Good to see you posting your tunes Ian.

Jomi
No takers in Manchester mate!!! The River Irwell doesn't really have the correct "effect" does it. Thanks for the comments about the harmonica. The guitar is G and I always thought the correct cross harp was C. Perhaps the harmonica is slightly out of tune as I had an earlier comment about the cross harp effect or perhaps its my playing!!!
thanks for all the feedback guys. It's really helpful to have your "ears"
Cheers

Ian,
You are correct C is the cross for G. But I agree with Jomi there was some difference in the pitches. I thought that the playing (control and note selection) was good, the pitches just seemed to be a bit off. Keep it up I love blues and especially ones with harp.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
