Homeward

This song could be about anyones long journey to reach their goal, or just a romantic story about someone coming home. The person taking the journey can be male or female, whatever you're comfortable with. It's not exactly cheery, but it's not sad either!
I hope you like it.

John

The lyrics:

At last the winter brings me homeward
Ever on and up I go
Mountain pathway brings me closer
To the cabin in the snow

The ground is frozen on the lake side
My body’s icy to the core
Just a few miles left to go now
And I can touch your face once more

As I grow close my heart is pounding
Glad I swallowed silly pride
Many people saw me laughing,
While inside me my heart cried

And as the dusk draws in it’s colder
When I first see that distant light,
Smoking chimney signals welcome
I’ll be there before the night

Before I reach the door it opens
The wind blows soft against your skin
Log fire burning in the fireplace
Take my hand and lead me in

Jomi,
That was absolutely beautiful. Your playing is excellent and your vocals are stunning. Combine that with lyrics that tell a great story in a smooth, flowing manner and you have a great piece of music.

Jomi,
Another fine presentation and story telling.
Jomi, I hope your past 14 so your voice doesn't go through any unexpected changes.

That's another beautiful song Jomi, you're a genuine talent, your songs are a pleasure to listen to everytime, It would be good if you could come to the get together that's being organised in UK but I think I mentioned that before, I'm hoping to go I'm taking a Tambourine in case my nerves get to me at least the shaking hands will come in useful. Look after yourself Jomi always enjoy listening to you sing.

Regards

Chris

Jomi, another wonderful tune. Your songs are always so moving and thought inducing.

Just one bit of advice, "Quit your day job!!".

Knight46, thank you, glad you liked it

Eddie, thank you and yes, I'm just very slightly past 14

Thank you Smort

Thank you Starsailor I've been thinking about the uk 'get together', but I'm not big on drinking and I don't think I can get an industrial strength tambourine.

Thanks X4, watch out Bill Gates, Skinnybloke is here

Thanks AT

eCowboy, thank you, you have no idea how much I would love to be able to follow your advice! The idea of a van with a huge loudspeaker on top - I could drive round the grounds all day explaining what they can do with their job! Till the police drag me away!!

Thank you Stratrat, I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it.

You too, thank you too? err...yes.... that's right
