A Quick Jam

Here's a quick little jam I did, I havent posted for a while so I figured I'd do a post. He I just played the Am Pent with some minor sixths and perfect seconds but mostly minor pent. I've yet to dive deeply into PT, I'm working on commiting the shapes to memory and so forth, I'm planning on investing some solid chucks of time in the next couple of days on that ...hopefully I will this time. As always the more critiques the better so I can improve.

Very nicely played AX7221, I enjoyed that.
You're a bit to advanced for me to offer you any kind of useful critique. Recording was nice and clear too.

Ok, so where's the vocals? LOL You need a singer? HMMMMM...now THERE'S MY comfort zone!

Actually, that was really cool, you're way above my skill level so I can only applaud you, it sounds nice. Did you trip on the rhythm once or twice, perchance, though?

My problem seems to be that I get singing and completely forget to play...makes me a lousy rhythm guitarist, though! LOL Sure, I'd love to work on something with ya, but my mic set up here sounds icky...I do need to upgrade from just a basic webcam with built-in. I recorded a video of me playing guitar and singing, and while it sounded okay, the vocals and instrumental did NOT match up with the actions...Kind of like a fish that has already left the water and is sittin' in the frying pan...!!! Would that be my video card?

And I have no idea what kind of analogy that is, but I must be getting hungry...LOL

I'm not sure, I've never had a web cam, but like anything you can try different things to isolate the problem. You could maybe watch ram levels, like when I record audio on top of a track in real time there is a little delay but when I stop recording it will compenstate for the delay and line up the newly recorded one with the original one as if there was no delay in the computer processing stuff. When I have a ton of stuff open, when my ram gets filled or if I have spyware or adware that slows down the system it won't compensate correctly, it sounds like this could be a similar thing. As for trying different things, maybe do a short one and a long one to see if it will affect it, or maybe close every program right after a reboot when the computer will run the smoothest and try it, or open a ton of programs and try it then. even if its messed up when there aren't many programs/files open if its more messed up when a lot of programs are open we'll have a better idea as to what's the problem. if your hard drive is 90% or more filled that can be problematic.

Ack! GEEK SPEEK....LOL

I sort of know what you're talking about, I don't think it's the hard drive, and my RAM is pretty good, I just need to be able to record without the video and then I'm good to go.

Hmmmm is there a software somewhere I could do that with? There MUST be...

Ellenback - Check out the tips in the "Home Studio" sub-forum. Several of us are using Audacity as our computer recording software - it's free, very easy to set up and use, and gets pretty good results. Also, take a look at Tekker's Lessons for a lot of helpful information about hooking up and recording through your computer.

OMG, that's awesome, thank you so much Stratrat! My voice already sounds much improved through that software!

I think you've solved a dill-emma for me, appreciate the info from both you and Mr. Ax!
