Another Slide Diddy

Patiently waiting for my copy of PT. Here's another slide tune that I put together to test some pickups in my Washburn. I played the bass & created the drums on a Yamaha keyboard. The first minute is a Seymour Dancan 59N, the 2nd minute is the middle setting, the 3rd minute is a Gibson 498T (love this pickup). Amp is an old Mesa/Boogie.

Hey, how about that, I just figured out how to associate my name with your playing....you sure "Ken Cook" That was great doveman...be real nice to hear you and Kirk doing something together, maybe a little "talk-off" or something along the lines of conversing thru those awesome skills you two possess.

Thanks ... but I think Kirk's playing on a whole different level. That's what attracted me here quite frankly ... heard some of his tunes and said "now that's what I want to be able to do".

Yes ... I've always played in standard tuning. I've dabbled in a couple of open tunings (big Derek Trucks Open E fan) but I always lose my concentration, my improv habit kicks in ... then all of a sudden ... well it's not pretty.

That's why I really like the idea of Drop D tuning. I can keep my habits and feel ... but the get the much improved lower string setup. Even I can remember one string change. If I temporarily lose my concentration ... get off the low E string quick!!!

I think this Drop D could be a match for me.

I like the feel you got going there. The rythm section wa very good. The slide had some really sweet spots. Johnbullard
