Re-recorded original
Here's one of my songs that I went back and re-recorded. I think it's one of my better songs, but I never liked the sound quality when I first recorded it. Looking back, it was just a matter of learning how to maximize my very minimal recording equipment (plug direct into mic jack with guitars/cheapo karaoke mic). By the way, if you want to go back and listen to the original, it was the first song I posted here when I became a member a bit over a year ago- it's been pulled, but you can go to my soundclick page to check that one out as both versions are up there.

Wow what a great recording, all kinds of things going on and all seemed to be coming from different parts of my headset.
Enjoyed the tune and nice 'laid back' vocals.

Tom, if you are referring to the little riff that plays on the left side during the intro and choruses, it is played while damping the strings, then there is a tape-delay effect during mixing that I put on. It's a small homage to Fleetwood Mac in a way- I always loved that little sound used on "Hold Me".

Sounds great, Chris - great vox, great playing, very clean recording. Are you still using the same recording equipment as you did on the original, or have you upgraded it? I dig that little tape delay effect thing you did - adds a neat vibe to the song. Did you do all the background vocals also?
Hope you don't mind - I saved that one to disc, it's going on my iPod!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
