Original Slide In Std Tuning
Here's a sample of slide playing in open tuning from me. I have been using standard tuning, 10-46 strings, standard action, glass slide.

The last two weeks I've been playing around with the Drop D tuning and like it ... signed up for some of Kirk's material today. Hopefully, the material will help me open up my style a bit.

Thanks ...
My two main slide guitars are my main squeeze '80 Yamaha SA2000 and a Washburn WI62 Idol. This is the Washburn which I got for <$300 new. I put a Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup and a Gibson 498T bridge pickup. Both guitars are set up with standard action/tuning. My amp is '78 Mesa Boogie with no pedals. It's a sweet amp.
This particular cut was the Washburn/Boogie setup. It's a cheap guitar but I really like the sound of it.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
