Agustin Barrios Mangore - Mvt 2 La Catedral

It's been awhile coming, I did a video of it for some college work and hosted it on Youtube, figured might as well get used to the new rule changes.

Suppose it's quite handy in a way, cause now you get to see it played too, and it helped me learn it when I watched it being played.

There is an out of time chord half way thru the piece on a down run, its tricky but I can usually get it, but it was just one chord out of a difficult piece, and I really wanted to test the recording and hosting of the video, so didn't bother redoing it again....tho I think I should probably have shaved.

Same as last time, Raimundo 610E, straight into a 4 track, then straight into the PC, I think I may have EQ'd it in Nuendo as it has a really nice acoustic EQ setup at the click of a button, but can't remember.

Hope you like it. Any comments or advice welcome.

Oh and I been hitting Mvt 3 too, but its very fast, and I not up to speed on the first few bars yet let alone the rest of it, so that could be a real long wait for that one.

I am still having a bit of a problem with the guitar, as it doesn't have a mark over the 7th fret, would a tipex mark at the 12th and perhaps the 9th devalue or damage the guitar...much?

very nice!

You could always stick a little dot on the edge of the fingerboard with sticky backed paper.

Thanks I don't seem to be able to edit the original post, but its 7.30am and me brain not kicked in yet so there is probably a really obvious button I am missing.

Anyway, I video'd movement 1 and changed movement 2 video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-rWnr8UKp0 - Movement 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa-P8uBOyIs - Movement 2

I also added reverb that matched a Cathedral sound.

Let me know if its better or worse, I like the reverb but I have terrible hearing.

Oh the video is very grainy in movement 1, but my webcam only seems to work at midday with the sun directly pointed at it, at all other times it doesn't seem to pick up enough light.

Classical music in a cathedral - beautiful, and really well played.

Just for information Fong you can brighten your videos in windows moviemaker.

Yeah problem is my webcam is actually pretty bad, it cost about 2 dollars to give you an idea....it's like a shoebox with a bit of baking paper stuck on the back.

When it isn't bright enough, it doesn't just make the videos dark but it creates less pixels too...i think...the picture looks much grainier and blocky which makes it appear darker.

I think i either need to stick to recording at midday when the sun is out or buy a better Camera.
