Guns NīRoses - Sweet CHild OīMine

A classic 80´s song. I dont even dare to sing on this one..... Anyway, i did the guitar blasphemy of playing this song with a Stratocaster, so purists, forgive me please!
I dont have my Les P right now, so , i hope you can enjoy it as it is. Hey! the tone is not bad! The wha-wha solo was improvised... most of it.... Peace.

Well if that was blasphemy GT then you still did it pretty darn good. Did you do more than one track or just the lead ?

As a newbi to electrics, I got a LesPaul Zak Wylde, but gonna go see an American Strat, to see how they differ in sound. Don't think I'm ever gonna make it on an electric but what the heck.
Great job on both and the mix.

Totally awesome GT, what great recording set up you must have, it rivals the original. I'm tempted to download this and to sing the vocals, but i doubt my mic could stand up to the track or my voice. I may even have a uncontrollable urge to jump around like axle

That is superb. As inspirational now as it was when I first heard the original.
The one down side, and it's a biggy, is the fact i'm really frustrated that I don't have a voice that could sing along to this.
Absolutely superb sound.
Thanks for the reminder of how "it can be done".

I was expecting Axl to kick in at any moment. I could picture Slash's top hat drooping over the strings. Very nice job!

You are forgiven for not using a LP.

Whooooo- that was seriously AWESOME. Took me right back to the first time I popped "Destruction" into the tape deck of the car back in high school. Great job- I want to hear more 80's/early 90's metal! How 'bout Thunderstruck by AC/DC? Should be a fun one to play....

All hail GT!
Brilliant. That was voted, (on one website anyway) as the best guitar riff of all time. Certainly instantly recognizable and well done. Apparently Slash was just goofing around and came up with that riff as a joke while trying to make a circus like sound!

Sure wish I could joke around like that, and play like you.

Hey guys, im speachless. I dont know what to say but an honest THANK YOU.
I did this recording because i got time and it was one of those songs i learned to play when i was younger. I felt bad because i was about to cover this song and its like a cliche of the recordings for guitarists.....so, i was kinda ashamed of it....thatīs why i was surprised when i open this thread and read your amazing replys. If thereīs anything i can do to help you out guys, really, just ask. Thanks

Sure, I have a favor to ask! Can ya whip over to my place and teach me that G&R solo? I'll be home around 7 tonight. Man you're a heck of a nice fella!

Ironic side note - I was driving down the highway about two days ago and playing that tune in the car. I was thinking "I wish *I* could play that." I like that little 8-note ending of the intro just before Axl starts to wail.
