BB style blues
Here's something I just posted on the PT forum...though I may as well post it here, too. Just ignore the clams.

Good on ya for posting this Sid ... like I said at the PlaneTalkers forum, you captured some great moments there and you were obviously really enjoying playing to the track.
Encore, encore!

I haven't decided yet what to work on next. Any suggestions, or anything in particular you'd like to hear me try?

Well played Sid,
In places it almost sounds as if you've stolen 'Lucille' from the great man himself. For your next post, how about something fingerstyle?
I suggested someone might try the piece at the end of this interview - http://www.martintaylor.com/sitepix/...ylor_small.pdf - a few days ago but so far no takers. It has a nice melancholic feel to it - lots of maj 7ths - and the almost constant flow of passing eight notes gives it a nice harmonic quality. If someone doesn't have a go at it I may post my own version but I warn you now - it's not pretty.

Thanks, Simon. Fingerstyle is something I'd like to learn but haven't even started on yet.

Thanks, RockerWilly. Sorry, but I have no idea how to create tabs. I just play and whatever comes out comes out.
Yeah, Carlos is one of the greats. A while back I was working on Black Magic Woman...at some point I'll probably go back to it and see if I can record a decent take. So many great songs, so little time.

Thats awesome! I know what you mean about just playing and let it flow. I've had times thinking I could improve a lead and gave up. sometimes ya got it, and sometimes ya don't.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
