  Metallica - Nothing else matters

This is my first post in this forum.

I'm beginner and I've been playing for 5 months, so I'm pretty satisfied with my recording.

I recorded NEM with Guitar BOX, and in interlude part of song sound is broken, and I want you to know that's not my mistake.

This is not song in it's original version (my friend showed me how to play it). I know it has some mistakes.... no one is perfect...

You won't belive this: My uncle said that he'll give me 50 euros if I learn to play it well...
---
If you decide that it's played well, I'm gonna show him this post and (I hope) he'll give me money...
---

Every comment is welcome...

What veineri said. You just need to clean it up a bit in the intro to make the notes sound cleaner and your ready to go get the money.

I tried doing that intro, but still haven't got it down yet, but I usually use a clean setting without any effects on it, you can really hear the notes that way. For five months good speed and good knowledge of how the song sounds. (I haven't learned it yet all the way)

Thanks... I'm self taught... It took me a lot of time to "feel" how to play song, if you know what I want to say.

MMM....there are a lot of mistakes here and there, but i think most of it are due to the way your friend showeed you the song. I think i started with that song too when i picked up the guitar. The chorus chords are C- A (yea, major)-D. But once more, you just have 5 months playing, so its really great for you to strat recording yourself and keep a track of your improvements on guitar. Try to find a good tab and play it slowly, youll improve in no time.

I'd be really pleased with that if I could do that in a years time let alone 5 months! I'm an absolute beginner and teaching myself. I think it was really quite good, just some notes are quieter than others. But I think it deserves that 50 Euros definitely!
Well done

That was a good effort...
I play that slightly differently too, the intro i play as the original goes, but i adapt to a live accoustic version, for the verses/chorus.
Still do the run down/up on the E string but i just strum the chords....

E- 3-2-0 Em D Dsus4 C x 3 (i think)
E- 2/3 G B7 Em

then
C A D Dsus4 D Dsus4 (never cared for what they do) etc

it sounds great played that way on a steel string accoustic.

As for the solo, i havent gotten around to learning that yet.

Good job, none the less, keep on pickin

Some notes need to be given the chance to ring out for longer but still very well done. I'm tempted to give you the 50 euros myself.

I discovered a new way of playing the verses... I'll post it in couple of days...

new way:

Now I use Dsus4 pull off and Csus4 instead of C

This is the version of the intro that I work with, I think it sounds pretty good and comes close to the original, I play it clean and sometimes add a lil delay or reverb, haven't listened to the song in awhile, so can't remember exactly how it sounds at the intro. The intro tab for NEM.

E------------0----------|
B---------0-----0-------|
G------0-----------0----|
D-----------------------| Repeat this 3 times.
A-----------------------|
E---0-----------------0-|

E---7--7-------(7-0)---------|
B---0--0-----0--------0------|
G----------0------------0----|
D----------------------------|
A---------------------------0|
E---0--0------------------0--|

E---7--8--7--5--7---(5-0)-|
B---0--0--0--0--0-----0---|
G-------------------------|

E-------------------------|

E--0-------(3-0)---------|
B--5-----5-------5------5|
G------5-----------5-----|
D------------------------|
A--0------------------0--|
E------------------------|

E--0--0--0--0----------|
B--5--5--6--5----------|
G----------------------|
D----------------------|
A--0--0--0--0----------|
E----------------------|

E-------(3-0)----------|
B--5-----------5-------|
G-----5----------5--7--|
D----------------------|
A----------------------|
E----------------------|

E---------0-5-----------0-|

G-------7-----------0-----|
D-------------------------|
A-------------------------|
E-------------------------|

E-----------12-|
B-----------12-|
G-----------12-|
D--------------|

This should make your intro sound a lot cleaner. Love the song, and good luck.
