Streets of London - Sleepy's Video
Okay, here goes. This is my acoustic version of Streets of London. I loved Joe's version with all the added effects. My version is very much unplugged.
Again, hacked through the vocals - but passable.......I suppose.
I think this is one of those tunes that all fingerpickers would like to play (well I did anyway). True classic.
The chords are easy, just a few different picking patterns played throughout and some easy embelishments.
Hope you enjoy.
Sleepy.

Great job Sleepy! I was looking at the 8.8 megabyte file, and thought, ok, here we go. But it downloaded and started playing in less than 30 seconds. Well worth the wait! Come on folks give it a listen! Great tune and excellent to see Sleepy's fingerpicking in full form!

Hey thanks guys for the kind comments. Hope the video helps a few who would like to learn this tune and see that it's not overly difficult. I play a barred F but you don't have to - my preference. Just the half barre with the thumb wrapped over will do the job.
I know wrapping the thumb over the top isn't exactly 'the done thing', but I do it loads of times and it works for me.
I've just uploaded this tune to my website. Don't know if that'll make it quicker to view
Streets of London
All the best,
Sleepy.

Loaded much quicker on the web site connection, nicely done, and your singing is way beyond hacking.

Excellent, sleepy, excellent. You now need to get out there, do a few gigs in front of an audience (if you're not already) ... you'll be amazed at how quickly you get your act together when there's a bit of pressure on! Those loose ends don't stay loose for very long.

Wow, sleepy, that is some awesome playing!!
Thanks for great videos that show how you're doing it so clearly - not that I could finger pick like that even if I wanted to!
Thanks for the great music!

Thanks to everyone for your kinds comments. This forum gives everyone, at whatever level, positive encouragement.
Seems to have taken me ages (well, a few years anyway) to get to a decent standard.
Things can only get better. Still find it an uphill struggle at times.

Without doubt Kirk you are my inspiration. As for going out doing gigs. Mmmmm......scary
Love your version of Freight Train. Might have a go a that next.
It's all good.

I always thought the Ralph McTell version was a bit 'cute' and jaunty, but you have inspired me to have another go at it. Excellent. Thanks.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
